Run #2459

30/03/2026
Storrington
Limited parking at the pub. Due to a kitchen refurbishment no food is available, however, you may bring food in and various takeaway options are available including Dominos and Marrakesh Spice by the car park over the road https://maps.app.goo.gl/k4K22ZwuLXJdg5Fo9

NOTE: Run will start from the PUBLIC car park.
BH7 #2459 - The Anchor Inn, Storrington - Gathering in Old Mill Square Car Park, a quick chalk talk by the hares would find Sir Malibog noting his three-line 'false trail' marks, a deviation from the usual BH7 marks. And so, the pack proceeded W over Old Mill Drive and alongside the Stor following the riverside walk, with FH before turning NE around the houses and following the footpath to, and along, Fryern Rd N. E then along Melton Dr, S on Downsview Ave. A little anti-clockwise loop through The Glade Woodlands (and following also a kiddies Easter trail), trail proceeded E up Kingsland Cl, through the alleyway to Sullington Parish Hall Park (Little Swinger managing to squeeze into a toddler swing) before SE over Thakeham Rd and S along the footpath between Palmer Cl and Heatherlands. Now in The Warren, trail would follow clockwise around to Water Ln, up Hillside Rd (c/w FH), down Hillside Walk and back into the woods. A long wrong check at the eastern edge would see LS and myself encountering one of Sir Malibog's false trail marks, before trail continued its clockwise loop around to the quarry (c/w another FH and a photo stop) and then back to Water Ln. Heading around in clockwise direction, c/w with more FHs until Woodpecker Ln where Sip Stop would greet everyone. On Inn down Woodpecker Ln would see a post-sip FH for 2, turning N on Nightingale Ln and a final FH for 1 (although no-one partook that I am aware of), before a final turn onto School Hill and the Car Park. For those observant enough, the FHs had been counting down, 6 through 1.
Β
In the pub, a quick round of DDs would find first the hares (Angel, Bouncer, and Sir Malibog) called up with DDs to "Here's To The Hare". And then, a 'stupid' duo of Mudlark (for not realising the 'token' in the woods was actually a foil-covered chocolate) and Caught Short (for missing the hash, living literally just up the road, spotting the marks and then heading back to the pub to join us post-hash). After a short amount of AOB, the evening was closed with the toast. On On! - Nasty Nips
